The new building, designed by Lehmann Architekten, will expand the existing building's area threefold. In addition to the extra exhibition space, there is an elegant glass transition to the late Baroque existing building, a library, archives, an administrative area, and a spacious, representative entrance hall.
On behalf of the architects, DAY & LIGHT acted as lighting consultant and lighting designer for the entrance and circulation areas.
