Lighting concept The lighting follows the widening of the marketplace with a double row of approximately 4.5m high light poles, without subdividing the space. This keeps the plaza area free for flexible uses. Aesthetically, the luminaires continue the simple, unobtrusive design language of the lighting on the Marktstraße, but offer more functionality: In addition to optional power connections for market and Christmas lighting, as well as e-mobility, additional light heads can be modularly added opposite the town hall for facade accentuation. In addition to the basic lighting, a subtle brightening of the old post office building's facade visually creates a spatial enclosure to the west, supported by illumination of the large lime tree. By accentuating the Panscher sculpture and the water's edge on the east side of the fountain table, a visual anchor is created in the western centre of the plaza, corresponding to the significance of the location. The atmospheric lighting, maintained in a warm colour temperature, defines the plaza volume in the night-time cityscape through balanced contrasts and supports a vibrant outdoor dining scene. This creates a public space with a high quality of stay.
