The station structure consists of an underground distribution level, then a tram stop below that, and an connection provided by an approximately 405m long tram and pedestrian tunnel.
Under the operational requirements of the transport authority, the lighting design aims to support intuitive orientation. For this purpose, surface brightness levels and colour temperatures of the light are primarily used. At the tram stop, located two storeys below ground, the platforms and waiting areas are illuminated with a warm white light colour and pinpoint light sources. These provide brilliance and plasticity. Blue backlit glass panelling on the walls creates a bright spatial atmosphere and offers a perceived connection upwards to daylight. The colour temperatures are subtly graduated upwards towards the daylight via the distribution level.
The grand stair portals on the distribution level are illuminated by daylight and, at night, by artificial strip lighting, making them clearly visible.
