The timelessly elegant architecture of allmannwappner (formerly Allmann Sattler Wappner) forms the gateway to the northern entrance of Munich. The high-rise building presents itself as a landmark on three sides, clad in an aluminium shell, and opens up transparently on the fourth side with a continuous, transparent glass facade. In conjunction with direct and indirect office lighting, this facade appears in the evening cityscape like a living type case, or a pixel facade, depending on the offices and their users.
The entrance hall is presented with high-contrast graphics, enhanced by a physically subdued lighting scheme. This lighting creates good brilliance and plastic form through pin-point light sources discreetly integrated into ceiling channels.
The canteen changes dynamically throughout the day with artificial skylights and controllable white and blue components of indirect lighting. The downlights have been elegantly and unobtrusively integrated framelessly into the ceiling.
