Symbiosis A new living space is being created in the Freiham settlement focus. Living, working, education, sports, leisure, recreation, technology, art, and experiences are emerging in an overall process. The individual building blocks work together meaningfully as interlocking components of a complex habitat. People perceive their sequence as a natural interplay, intuitively comprehensible.
When applied correctly, light aids orientation and the perception of the whole. Not only does light enable physical sight, thus fulfilling a safety function, but art objects are also more than just applied decorative elements. Together, these two elements shape the unique emotional identity of a place, create an experienceable space, function as signposts, nodal points, identifiers and visual anchors.

Filter We rarely experience light, be it daylight or artificial light, as a neutral medium or a means of conveying information. Consciously or unconsciously, we associate different sensations with light in its respective context. Light only exists in space, and space only becomes visible through light. The light source and the nature of the space, the angle of view, movement, and one's own state of mind all blend into an extremely subjective perception. Furthermore, light is a fragile medium. From the source to the object, it is susceptible to „disturbances,“ thereby changing its character and consequently the space. Sunlight falling through the canopy of a tree, the morning twilight in a hazy atmosphere, reflections on glass facades in urban canyons. The influences that alter daylight are countless. Equally diverse are the tools with which artificial light, and thus space and our perception, can be manipulated; consider film, photography, and theatre.

Glass-Mobiles At special visual and pathway connections within the education campus and sports park, joints formed by glass mobiles arranged in rings will emerge. From each of these joint points, the next point is already visible. Through the interplay of daylight and artificial light, the light curtains will become an integral part of the park by day and by night, just as the park as a whole is part of the installation. Incident sunlight will create freely interpretable sundials and dynamic light patterns projected onto the park areas. In the evenings, the filtering and reflection of the illumination will produce diverse kaleidoscope-like colour patterns at the various pathway intersections. A palette of six colours will be used: yellow, orange, red, cyan, blue, and dark blue. While the artificial light itself remains static, the light display will subtly shift with the gentle movement of the glass in the wind. This creates the impression of fluid light, akin to that found in sacred buildings. It animates the space and imbues it with an almost transcendent character. Simultaneously, it interacts not only with the surroundings but also with the people moving within it, as if one were immersing themselves in light.

Landscape Park While the lighting elements in the sports and educational park blend into an urban character, the installation in the landscape park shifts towards a floral and nature-inspired theme. A series of flexible, slender stelae follows the geometry of the park's overarching movement, capturing the forms and movements of trees and plants through wind, weather, and seasons, creating an abstract gesture within the natural environment. The arrangement generates a subordinate, gentle waveform that intersects with the junctions of the park's grand design at specific points along the pathways, accompanying the path in stretches before receding again.

Thanks to the material's flexibility, the stelae absorb the wind's movements and create their own dynamic through gentle wave-like motions that continue throughout the entire landscape park.

In the evening, the bright beams are emphasised by a point of light, the arrangement of which stands out against the night sky as a wavy band, forming its own horizon.
