Innsbruck's main train station presents itself as a light-filled, transparent building structure and forms the completion of Südtiroler Platz. Thanks to its bright interiors and the reduced luminance of the external facade, the hall glows like a self-illuminating space at dusk. This architectural lighting underscores the themes of transparency and translucency, which are also highlighted in the surroundings of the station through the choice of materials in Südtiroler Platz. Particularly striking is the waiting area canopy, whose semi-transparent material is visually dissolved by backlighting, creating a harmonious and inviting appearance.
