Contribution Lighting Concept for Lohrer.Hochrein

Lighting concept The lighting highlights the spatial effect and the character of the town. The market square is illuminated with mast lights arranged in two rows, the light from which creates rhythm and structure in the long space through contrasts on the ground. The brightness corresponds to traffic engineering requirements and is concentrated towards the edges of the space. Facades are subtly illuminated by reflections from the ground, without direct glare into windows. The masts also serve as the supporting structure for individual spotlights, which are used both for the architectural lighting of important towers, gates, and churches, and for accentuating individual facade elements or objects, such as planters. The illuminations are strategically placed within the overall concept to strengthen sightlines and thus improve orientation. All luminaires should be equipped with high-quality lighting technology and good glare control to minimise stray light and improve visual comfort. Less glare improves vision and therefore requires lower overall brightness.

The lighting in the grove is subdued. It should be controllable on demand: subtle spotlights for accents and a special play of light with colour-controllable light objects.

For general lighting, a warm white light colour is generally used (2,700K). Light sources with direct light emission into the sky are completely avoided.
